Breaking News: Asians rely on Internet to communicate - survey

LONG BEACH, California – Asian Americans rely on the Internet to communicate, the annual Asian American Consumer Behavior Study, revealed.

The third annual Consumer Research Study conducted by interTrend’s Knowledge Center reveals relevant findings and insightful views into brand loyalty, lifestyle habits, purchase drivers, as well as media consumption of Asian Americans. This year’s study increased the sample size to include the Asian Indian segment as well as added questions relating to cell phone usage to gain insights into the U.S. Asian telecom market. The findings will lay a foundation that will present not only the significant potential for marketers to enter this market, but also the fact that this market can no longer be ignored in the multicultural marketing strategies of Fortune 500 companies.

Breaking News: Virginia Tech shooter identified

The shooter in the Virginia Tech university shootings has been identified as Cho Seung-Hui, a 23-year old South Korean national. He was studying English and lived on the university campus. Meanwhile, a list of confirmed deceased has been released.

  The President of Virginia Tech, Charles Steger said in an interview that the "possibility exists" that more than one gunman was involved. "It appears that the second shooter was a resident in our dormitory... it appears he was an on-campus resident," Steger said. Ballistic reports confirm that the same gun was used in both instances of the campus shootings, but police could not confirm if the shooter was the same.

Breaking News: Jesus Family Tomb Believed Found

Feb. 25, 2007 — New scientific evidence, including DNA analysis conducted at one of the world's foremost molecular genetics laboratories, as well as studies by leading scholars, suggests a 2,000-year-old Jerusalem tomb could have once held the remains of Jesus of Nazareth and his family.

The findings also suggest that Jesus and Mary Magdalene might have produced a son named Judah.

Breaking News: Indonesian Health Ministry: Two new human clusters of Bird Flu suspected in Suma

The Indonesian Health Ministry has stated that at least seven people, including three children from Northern Sumatra Province in the district of Karo, are being hospitalized for the suspected H5N1 Bird Flu virus and officials believe that the infected are part of "two clusters" of family members who are sick.

Breaking News: Israeli soldiers landing in Baalbek

Israeli forces landed Wednesday at Baalbek in northeast Lebanon, an area considered to he a Hezbollah stronghold.
Israel has not, at this time, commented on the reasons for the operations.
Reports say some of the forces are paratroopers transported by helicopter and that Israeli warplanes targeted at least five suspected Hezbollah positions near Baalbek.

(MountEverest.net) Media sources in the Philippines are praising Heracleo “Leo” Oracion as the first Filipino Everest summiter.

Leo reached the summit today at 3:30 pm, local time from the South Col route. “The Philippine Eagle has landed on the summit,” he reportedly told expedition leader Arturo Valdez through the radio.

Erwin "Pastor" Emata, another member of the national expedition was expected to reach Camp 4 by 12 noon or 1 p.m Wednesday. It is unclear if he turned round. Romi Garduce preferred to follow a more regular pace, and is currently between C3 and C4.

Breaking News: ARROYO DECLARES STATE EMERGENCY

US urges respect for civil liberties, human rights
MANILA – President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo declared a state of national emergency Feb. 24 and warned those planning to grab power that their betrayal will be dealt with under the full force of the law.
All protests were banned after Arroyo issued the proclamation directing the armed forces to stop the efforts of a “tactical alliance” between right-wing and communist forces to “create an unconstitutional regime.”
