Hobbies: Camera Shake and Image Stabilization (vibration Reduction)

When you are first buying camera equipment you see a lot of lenses that have the IS or VR designations on them. This is Image Stabilization or Vibration Reduction. They mean the same thing except Canon uses the first term and Nikon uses the second. These are mechanisms built into the camera lens to prevent "camera shake". I will discuss how to get rid of camera shake and why I purchased a VR lens for myself.

Hobbies: A Few Bonsai Basic Keypoints

Starting from the bottom of the tree would be the pot. Having the right pot can make the difference in how your bonsai tree is perceived and give the impression of a real tree. By having a pot too large, your bonsai tree will look more of a plant in a pot rather then a full grown bonsai. Usually you're training a bonsai tree to make him look like a real tree but in miniature. So in resume, the pot must be less massive then the tree.

Moving up would be the soil, or covering the soil. Some bonsai enthusiasts prefer to cover their soil with moss. The Kyoto moss is popular because it is a fine bright green moss. Moss can be grown on a separate plate and then place over the soil once you have done a re potting. However, some prefers to sprinkle the moss spore over the soil once they have re potted their bonsai tree. Moss needs humidity and shade to grow.

Hobbies: Bonsai : What And What Not To Do

Bonsai plants are all tree. By definition, a bonsai tree is a tree in a pot if we literally translate the word bonsai from Japanese to English. However bonsai as an art form requires more then a tree in pot which some may call a stick in a pot.

A few elements are essential to a great bonsai tree and here is a list of the elements I consider the most important when designing a bonsai in the most respectuous manner of the japanese art form of gardening.

Hobbies: Digital Camera Basics-images

In the past twenty years, most of the major technological breakthroughs in consumer electronics have been built around the same basic process: converting conventional analog information (represented by a fluctuating wave) into digital information (binary information represented by ones and zeros, or bits). This fundamental shift in technology has changed how we handle visual and audio information -- it completely redefined what is possible.

The digital camera is one of the most notable examples of this shift because it is so truly different from its predecessor. Conventional film cameras depend entirely on chemical and mechanical processes -- you don't need any electricity whatsoever to operate them, other than for a flash. On the other hand, all digital cameras have a built-in computer, and all of them record images electronically.

Hobbies: Digital Camera Basics-resolution, Exposure, Focus, and Storage

Resolution

The amount of detail that a camera can capture is called the resolution, and it is measured in pixels. The more pixels a camera has, the more detail it can capture and the larger pictures can be without becoming blurry or "grainy." High-end consumer cameras can capture over 12 million pixels. Some professional cameras support over 16 million pixels (megapixels), or 20 million pixels for large-format cameras. For comparison, it has been estimated that the quality of 35mm film is about 20 million pixels.

Hobbies: Lawn Repair and Renovation

When repairing or renovating lawns, specialized equipment can increase effectiveness and make the job much easier. Match equipment to the task that needs to be done for best results.

Aerating machines that actually pull out soil cores are suggested for use on lawns.

As mentioned already, core aerification is an important and highly recommended practice for many lawns. This process is useful to help reduce soil compaction and thatch, improve surface drainage, and improve conditions prior to overseeding. Core aerifiers insert hollow tines into the lawn and pull out plugs of soil. Size of cores removed will depend on the machine used, soil moisture, and type of soil. Core spacing also varies with the specific machine being used. Machines can be rented or aerifying services are available for hire.

Hobbies: Using Pot To Grow Organic Plant

Generally using pot to grow organic plant is done by those who have limited yard or those who live in the city, and there is no spare yard for planting. Growing organic plant in pot has two advantages: fresh vegetables for cooking and beautiful green environment. Anybody can do it and it can be done anywhere.

You can choose any pot for your organic plant, any shape, material and size as long as you think the pot is suitable for the plant. Therefore, you do not actually need to buy in stores, but you can use anything such as bamboo, bottle, bucket, plastic bag or even paint container, make sure you clean them first. You can use them for your organic plant, no need the new one!

Hobbies: Care and Handling of Bonsai Plants

Bonsai Care and Handling Bonsai – The Blending of Art & Nature

The Word Bonsai means “Little Trees in Pots.” Contrary to popular belief, the art of bonsai originated in China and was later refined in Japan. The western world has adopted this art to their lifestyles. Bonsai has become extremely popular and is recognized as an international art form.

Indoor Bonsai

Indoor bonsai are tropical plants that are adaptable to indoor conditions. All indoor bonsai grow best in sunny areas. For best results, place your indoor bonsai near windows facing southeast or west. If you do not have a place for your tree to receive adequate sunlight, we recommend using a grow light.

Indoor bonsai will flourish if grown outdoors on a patio or deck during summer months. The ideal placement is where the bonsai receives morning sun and afternoon shade. Return your bonsai indoors when night temperatures fall below 55 degrees. Never allow your bonsai to freeze.

Hobbies: Choosing Your First Remote Control Truck by ALAN CHESTNUTT

If you are thinking of buying your first remote control truck, here are some things you need to keep in mind. I would advise you pick yourself up an RTR (ready to run) kit to begin with. These RTR RC trucks often come fully assembled, or require only minimal assembly like gluing the tires to the wheels. Most of these models now also include a 2 channel radio and the servos pre-installed, saving you the hassle of trying to match a radio to servos.

Ready to run kits may be slightly more expensive than their basic unassembled kit counterparts, but if you do not have the building experience, it will save you weeks of work in assembly time, frustration and errors.

Hobbies: Coffee Facts - A Brief History In TimeIt is probably common knowledge that coffe

It is probably common knowledge that coffee was discovered in Ethiopia. The 'red' cherries which the sheep ate and become very active were taken home and tasted and what was known as the devil's fruit become coffee as the world knows it today. However, this is just one of the stories which revolve around the history of coffee. Another tale which has been around for some time involves an Arabian who use coffee beans to survive an exile and was discovered near the town of Mocha and thus we also refer to coffee as Mocha. As you will read on, there are more to these interesting coffee facts.

Hobbies: How Did the Comic Book Get Its Start?

The origins of the comic book are somewhat controversial and perhaps the jury is still out.

So lets go back to the cartoonish broadsheets of the Middle Ages, which were parchment products, created by anonymous woodcutters. As mass circulation of these broadsheets became possible, they soon developed a market, particularly at public executions, popular events for centuries (ugh), which drew thousands of happy spectators.

Many of these spectators would invest in an artist's rendering of a hanging or burning, and thus making a very lucky day for the broadsheet seller. The broadsheet evolved into higher-level content as humor was introduced. Eventually, all types of broadsheets emerged, which were eventually bound in collections, the prototype of the modern magazine.

Have you ever wondered what the difference between rattan furniture and wicker furniture is? If you have, I can explain the differences and some of the common misconceptions about these types of furnishings.

Many people incorrectly believe that rattan and wicker are one in the same. This couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, they aren't even in the same category. Let's take a look at how these two popular, yet very different, arts come together to provide a unique, elegant atmosphere in the home.
