Out of touch for 30 years, Danilo Magpantay, a Filipino seaman in Brazil and his family in the Philippines will finally be reunited soon. Magpantay, now married with children and a permanent resident in Brazil, will spend the holidays with his mother and siblings in the country with the embassy in the South American nation facilitating the reunion.
The search for Danilo began after
Ambassador to Brazil Teresita Barsana received a request from Roberto Magpantay to locate his brother whom they
have not heard from since he left the Philippines to work as a seaman in
1978. The family decided to look for Danilo following the recent death of his
father.
