A farmers’ group is considering filing charges against military officials for the abduction of Jonas Joseph Burgos as it accused the Armed Forces of delaying the investigation on the case. A motion for habeas corpus and charges of kidnapping and arbitrary detention would compel the military to produce Burgos, said Danilo Ramos, secsecretary general of the Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas.
Prior to his abduction on April 28, Burgos was active in giving agricultural training to farmers in Bulacan who are members of KMP. Burgos, a son of the late former Malaya publisher Jose Burgos Jr., was taken by about four men from a restaurant at the Ever Gotesco Mall in Quezon City and forced into a Toyota Revo van with license plates TAB 194.
