Around DC: Fund-raising for tots hour

The State of Philippine Education and he Children Hour was the top of a fund-raising gathering at the Philippine embassy July 2. Resource person was Ms Gee Mayuga, a retired executive of the Ayala Group of companies who is now devoting her time serving as Executive Director of Children’s Hour. She is married to the former Flag Officer in Command of the Philippine Navy, Vice Admiral Mateo M. Mayuga.

The *Children’s Hour *is a fundraising and funding organization registered with the Philippine Social Security Commission 2003. It started out as a project of the Ayala Foundation and the International Youth Foundation.   Introduced in the Philippines by Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala II, Children’s Hour raises money by asking every Filipino all over the world to donate the equivalent of ONE HOUR of their salary ONCE a year to fund projects that benefit the underprivileged children in the Philippines. Contributions to Children’s Hour are tax deductible.
