The second annual Progressive Alliance of Filipinos and Americans, Inc. (PAFAI) golf invitational to benefit the organization’s Project Gemini Foundation will be held at the Compass Pointe Golf Course in Pasadena, Maryland Sept. 15, 2007.
The Gemini Foundation is the charitable
arm of PAFAI which was founded to help facilitate the economic empowerment of
Filipino-Americans through its Counseling, Mentoring and Scholarship functions.
Aptly named to represent the Filipino-American’s cultural duality, Project
Gemini hopes to unite our community by creating an environment of
accomplishment and achievement in such fields as business, entrepreneurship,
sports, medicine and public service.
Proceeds from the tournament will go
towards the funding of scholarships for deserving students. Scholarship funds
in the Philippines are awarded to students at the Don Bosco Youth Center in
Manila. Don Bosco is a vocational training center designed to provide students
with the skills and education necessary to become successful members of
society. Funds in the United States will go towards the endowment of an
Entrepreneurial Scholarship at the University of Maryland at College Park.
Registration fee of $90.00 includes
