Philippine News: Relocate visa offices in Manila

Fourteen foreign embassies that issue visas from offices inside Dasmarinas Village in Makati City have been ordered to relocate outside the exclusive subdivision for the rich following complaints lodged by applicants.

The relocation order was reached after the Department of Foreign Affairs, officials of Barangay Dasmari±as and the Dasmari±as Village Association agreed to settle the issue. But DFA later said no such agreement had been reached with the barangay. This means the 14 visa-issuing embassies will remain inside the subdivision to faciliate easier processing of applications. The village houses the visa-issuing offices of the embassies of China, Egypt, India, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Mexico, Nigeria, Qatar, Russia, Sri Lanka and Turkey.
